Youth encounter ‘suspicious person’ on Arnprior trail
ARNPRIOR – A youth felt threatened by a “suspicious person” on a trail in Arnprior connecting A. J. Charbonneau Public School and a development of houses.
“On Nov. 4, at 7:58 p.m. officers with the Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a suspicious person call at the trail connecting A.J. Charbonneau school and Cranston Street, in Arnprior,” OPP media relations officer Const. Tina Hunt released in a statement today (Nov. 5).
A youth reported walking northbound along the trail at approximately 7:30 p.m. when they observed a person on the trail walking slowly toward them.
“The suspect was described as wearing an all-black track suit and wearing a dark coloured ‘hacker’ mask with neon blue accents,” Hunt said. “The person started walking more quickly towards the youth when they turned around and ran away. The youth reported the suspect carrying a small bat or knife-like object in their right hand.”
