WOCRC Virtual Art 101 online student program starts March 11
WEST CARLETON – The Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre (WOCRC) is offering a five-week program for youth 12 to 18 that will focus on a variety of artist skills.
The program, called Virtual Art 101, starts March 11 every Thursday from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
“It encourages individuals to explore their mindfulness and helps you de-stress in an enjoyable and creative way,” WOCRC rural child and youth counsellor Sozanne Abdillahi released in a statement Monday (March 1). “Youth will learn new creative techniques and tools to create art.”
Each week will be filled with activities of various art forms including painting with different tools, sketching, sculpting and therapeutic discussions.
Youth between 12 to 18 in rural west Ottawa can participate and “art supplies will be delivered directly to your door.”
“It will be great and I’m excited,” Abdillahi told West Carleton Online.
You must register in advance to participate and you can do so by emailing Abdillahi at abdillahi@wocrc.ca.
