The West Ottawa Community Church (WOCC) on 3123 Carp Rd. will be hosting an afternoon of food and games all in support of the WCFAC.

“The WOCC will be hosting a Barbecue and Games Fundraiser on Aug 24 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.,” volunteer organizer Ephraim Barrera told West Carleton Online. “Join us for live music, volleyball, dodgeball, face painting, bocce, board games, and more.”

All proceeds will be donated to the WCFAC, “an excellent charity that provides quality food to families in need in the West Carleton area.”

“Cost for entrance is $5 cash, additional cash donations of any amount are encouraged for food,” Barrera said. “We will also be taking food donations for the WCFAC during the event.”

The items the WCFAC especially needs at this time are canned fruit, ketchup, mayonnaise, jam, soda crackers, canned tomatoes, tomato paste, brown beans and dish detergent.
