West end partygoers help selves to other people’s debit cards
KANATA – A west end gathering was an opportunity for thieves to grab some stuff and ruin the party.
“The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is asking for the public’s help to identifying suspects who have been using stolen debit cards in west Ottawa,” the OPS released in a statement yesterday (Feb. 18).
The OPS say the suspects went to a house party in the west end of Ottawa in early January and are believed to be responsible for a number of people having their belongings stolen.
Stolen items included several debit cards which were then used at various locations afterward to make illegal purchases.
Anyone with information is asked to call the OPS. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477.
