West Carleton minor hockey registration now open

WEST CARLETON – Summer has finally arrived, time to start thinking about hockey.

West Carleton Minor Hockey registration is now open.

“Registration for the 2019-2020 minor hockey season is now open for all levels,” the West Carleton Minor Hockey Association (WCMHA) released in a statement. “If your child is trying out for the Ottawa Valley Silver Seven (OVSS) or Ottawa Valley Titans (OVT) or U-18, you still need to register with WCMHA, but only need to initially pay the $25 admin fee during registration. Players successful in making OVSS or OVT or U-18 will owe all additional fees directly to the competitive club. If you registered before this guideline was in effect (prior to July 5) our Registrar will be in contact to help determine if this applies to you.”

Any player returning to WCMHA must be paid in full prior to attending tryouts or sort outs.
Early bird pricing is available until Aug. 15. Registration is open until Aug. 31. Online registration for the Initiation/Juvenile Program will be available up to October 1, 2019 or until the program is full

Players compete in divisions based on their age as of Dec. 31.

Placement is not guaranteed for all returning players. For the 2019/2020 Season, WCMHA will be limiting registration for house league in all divisions (except IP, Midget and Juvenile) to 15 Skaters and two goalies per team.

“Those that register after the registration limits have been met at the various levels will be placed on a waiting list, but are not guaranteed a spot,” the WCMHA said. “This is first-come, first-served based on registration date paid in full. Excess skaters and goalies will be given a release to play with another association. WCMHA will not be held responsible to find an association to take excess skaters and goalies but WCMHA will assist with the process.”
