WCSTA appreciates landowners March 28
KANATA – West Carleton Snowmobile Trails Association (WCSTA) past president Scott Hamilton puts it rather simply when talking about Landowners Appreciation Night.
“That’s our biggest thing,” Hamilton told West Carleton Online Feb. 26 at the Old Sled Run. “Without our landowners, we don’t have a trail system.”
As each snowmobiling season begins, the WCSTA reaches out to West Carleton landowners for permission to use their land. As each season nears its end, the WCSTA thanks those landowners with a beautiful party. The WCSTA is the third largest recreational snowmobiling club in Eastern Ontario with 160 members.
This year they will be hosting participating landowners on Saturday, March 28 at the Ironstone Grill at the Marshes Golf Club (320 Terry Fox Dr.). The event features an Alberta roast beef dinner, live music by the Treblemakers, a keynote speaker, door prizes and sponsor draws.
While the event is free for landowners the WCSTA sells a limited number of tickets to club members.
Tickets are $45 for the whole evening or $10 in advance for just the music.
“We probably know about 90 per cent of our landowners,” Hamilton said. “This event allows us to get to talk with them and make sure there are no issues.”
For more information on the event, or to purchase tickets, you can contact the WCSTA at landowners@wcstai.com or at 613-852-7271.
