WCFHT continues weekend care as phone-in only

CARP – The West Carleton Family Health Team (WCFHT) will again restrict its Urgent Care Clinic to call-in care only this weekend (March 21 and 22).

“We have been taking guidance from the Public Health Agencies along with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and the Ontario Medical Association who are recommending a reduction in in-person visits, eliminating walk-in visits, and managing patients by phone or video when possible,” the WCFHT released in a statement today (March 20). “Continuing for the weekend of March 21 and 22 we will be holding weekend urgent care appointments by telephone only (not in person) with a physician. This is an effort to ensure we can appropriately screen our patients and avoid putting our most vulnerable patients at risk.”

Between 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. patients may call 613-839-3271 and a receptionist will either book a phone appointment with one of the physicians or transfer the caller to speak with a nurse who will assess your symptoms over the phone before discussing your issue with the doctor.

“We are not accepting walk-ins at this time,” the WCFHT said.
