WCFAC Christmas programs heating up

KINBURN – Coun. Eli El-Chantiry made his annual West Carleton Food Access Centre (WCFAC) donation, and if you haven’t already, the WCFAC is looking forward to seeing you soon too.

In past years, the councillor’s office would host a Christmas luncheon at the West Carleton Community Complex and invite the media to come by afterwards for the official photo of his office’s annual donation. During COVID-19 those things can’t happen, but he did send us a picture.

On Wednesday, Nov. 18 El-Chantiry made a donation of $1,000 to the WCFAC earmarked for its Christmas Basket and Angel Tree programs.

If you find you would like extra help this Christmas and are a resident of West Carleton, you can contact the WCFAC in strict confidence at 613-832-5685. Leave a message with your contact information and a volunteer will contact you post haste. The deadline for requests is Dec. 15.

Due to COVID-19 this year, the WCFAC can not deliver packages and they must be picked up from the WCFAC site at the West Carleton Community Complex (5670 Carp Road).

For anyone who would like to help the WCFAC deliver this amazing program, monetary donations would be greatly appreciated. Donations of $20 or more receive a tax receipt. Cheques can be mailed to the West Carleton Food Access Centre, 5670 Carp Rd., Kinburn, ON. K0A 2H0. The WCFAC also accepts e-transfers to WCfoodaid@gmail.com. The WCFAC asks you include your mailing address if donating by e-transfer.

West Carleton Online spoke to the WCFAC’s Mary Braun and Sharon Roper about the WCFAC and their holiday programs on Oct. 20.
