WCFAC Christmas basket program needs your help

WEST CARLETON – The West Carleton Food Access Program has launched their annual Christmas Basket Program for those in need and is counting on the community to support their efforts.

“Many of us at times find it difficult to make ends meet and at Christmas it can be especially difficult,” WCFAC’s Mary Braun released in a statement. “However, if we all work together, we can ensure that everyone can have a joyous Christmas celebration,”

If you find you would like that extra help at Christmas that a Christmas Basket provides please contact the food bank in strictest confidence at 613-832-5685, leave a message and a volunteer will return your call and make the necessary arrangements.

Deadline for requests is Dec 16 and delivery will be Dec. 20, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

The WCFAC centre relies on the greater community to help support the program.

Any resident, local business, club, church, etc. can:

1) Sponsor a basket for a family. This includes the food items for the family. A complete list of items will be provided to each sponsor. Please call the WCFAC at 613-832-5685.

2) Financial donations to cover the cost of the food and items for baskets that are not sponsored. In 2018, the WCFAC spent $8,000 on the Christmas Basket Program. A tax-deductible donation can be mailed to: WCFAC, 5670 Carp Road, Kinburn, ON K0A 2H0. Please make cheques payable to the West Carleton Food Access Centre and note in the memo for the Christmas basket program.
