WC Inferno to host fundraising golf scramble Aug. 28
WEST CARLETON – The West Carleton Inferno will host their second annual INFERNO Golf Scramble Fundraiser on Aug. 28.
The Inferno just wrapped up their second season in the National Capital Junior C Hockey League, just missing the last playoff spot in an exciting race at the end of the season, playing the best hockey of the team’s existence.
“We are excited to announce the second annual INFERNO Golf Scramble Fundraiser,” owner and general manager John Miotla released in a statement Saturday (June 20). “Join us for a fun day of #COVIDWise Golf with a variety of on-course games and contests followed by a delicious dinner with Online Auction.”
The staff at the Canadian Golf and Country Club have implemented numerous changes to their operations to make their facility safe for everyone and to be fully compliant with the requirements of government and public health officials. The golf carts have been fitted with EzGARD acrylic dividers to provide separation so they can be shared safely.
“Our event features a traditional start with tee off at the first hole and will be played in compliance with social distancing efforts and safety protocols related to COVID-19,” Miotla said.
Golf including lunch and dinner registration is $165 per golfer.
“Your golf registration provides you 18 holes of exceptional golf, power cart, practice range, welcome goody bag, lunch and dinner, on-course contests, door prize draw and online auction. Net proceeds of the event are in support of the West Carleton Inferno Junior Hockey Club to help offset the significant operating costs which include ice time for games and practices, referees, equipment maintenance, repairs and other expenses.
The Inferno are also looking for tournament sponsors.
“Why not take advantage of one of the busiest golf courses in the area to get more visibility for your business?” Miotla said. “We offer plenty of sponsorship opportunities to fit any advertising budget. Many come with two to four golfer entries included. View and purchase a sponsorship from our online store or reach out and we would be happy to discuss a special promotion just for you.”
Donations in-kind for prizes and the online auction in lieu of sponsorship are always welcome and will be recognized as a means of sponsorship.
