WC heatwave this weekend and beyond

WEST CARLETON – Environment Canada has issued its second heat warning of summer.

“Hot and humid conditions expected this weekend into early next week,” Environment Canada released in a statement early this morning (July 27). “Daytime maximum temperatures of 31 degrees are expected along with overnight low temperatures of 20 degrees, providing little relief from the heat.”

There may be some relief from the heat on Sunday as showers or thunderstorms are possible.  A slightly cooler airmass is expected to arrive on Tuesday.

“Extreme heat affects everyone,” Environment Canada said. “Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.”
