WC Fish-Game Club host ice fishing Derby Feb. 15
CONSTANCE BAY – It’s a weekend of ice fishing this Family Day holiday.
The West Carleton Fish-Game Club (WCFGC) is hosting its annual ice fishing derby Saturday, Feb. 15 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
It’s a great weekend for fishing as this weekend is the Licence Free Family Fishing Weekend in Ontario – anglers don’t need a licence.
The best way to access the derby, which will be held on Constance Bay, is at 115 Constance Bay Rd.
“Use the boat launch, turn left on the ice and travel up the river a bit,” the WCFGC released in a statement. “Look for the green WCFGC banner on our ice shack.”
Registration will take place from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m..; fishing from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m; and prizes will be given out from 3 p.m. to 3.30 p.m.
Registration fees for adults is $20, kids 13 and under – $10.
“We have prizes for biggest walleye, pike and perch,” the WCFGC said. “The auger is an open draw on your ticket.”
