WC business adding grocery delivery to services

WEST CARLETON – Constance Bay’s West Carleton Household Services (WCHS) is adding grocery delivery to its repertoire of services in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“WCHS is temporarily switching gears to home grocery delivery as we all try to be safe and healthy at this time,” WCHS owner Shannon Spallin released in a statement today (April 16). “I am currently reaching out to grocery stores who do not have online ordering and curbside pick-up and making arrangement with them to submit orders and pick up bulk batches.”

Orders will be picked by store staff and will be ready for pick-up at a designated day and time.

“I will have ice packs and coolers to maintain the safety of the food,” Spallin said. “I have my safe food handling certification and understand the necessity to maintaining the correct temperatures.”

The cost of delivery is $10 per order, per address. Payment is only accepted through eTransfer.

WCHS will text customers prior to delivery with the drop-off time and the cost of the order.

“I will deliver your items to your door and leave them on the front steps,” Spallin said. “I’ll ring the bell or knock to let you know that I’m finished, and it is safe to collect your groceries. Waves and smiles are welcomed.”
