Van sought in Nepean hit and run

NEPEAN — Ottawa police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a maroon or burgundy van involved in a hit and run collision with a 15-year-old child on Friday (July 31) evening. 

The vehicle was last seen in the area of Woodfield Dr. and Merivale Rd. at 8:20 p.m.

“The vehicle is described as an older style maroon or burgundy van and may have damage to its front,” the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) released in a statement. “This van is also believed to have been seen driving erratically through the parking lot of Canadian Tire located at 1820 Merivale Rd. shortly after the collision.”
The OPS is asking for any witnesses to contact the Ottawa Police Collision Investigation Section at 613-236-1222 ext. 2481 or by email at collisions@ottawapolice.ca.   

“We are also asking anyone who may have had dash camera footage of the area of Merivale Rd. and Hunt Club between 8:15 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. to contact the collision unit.
