Ugh, Environment Canada issues first frost advisory of fall

WEST CARLETON – Our worst fears have been realized, Environment Canada has issued the first frost advisory of fall.

Environment Canada issued a frost advisory today (Oct. 2) shortly before 11 a.m.

“Temperatures will drop to near the freezing mark overnight tonight over these regions,” Environment Canada released in a statement. “Frost may damage some crops in frost-prone areas.”

Frost advisories are issued when temperatures are expected to reach the freezing mark during the growing season, leading to potential damage and destruction to plants and crops. To report severe weather, send an email to ONstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #ONStorm.
