Two DRAO info sessions in the Bay this week
CONSTANCE BAY – West Carleton residents struggling with their Disaster Relief Assistance for Ontarians (DRAO) are invited to drop by the NorthWind Wireless Fibre Centre for one of two info sessions being hosted there this week.
“Staff from the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing will give a presentation on the Disaster Recovery Assistance for Ontarians (DRAO) program, including information on eligibility criteria, support documentation requirements, and how to apply,” Constance and Bckham’s Bay Community Association (CBBCA) Past President Len Russell released in a statement. “After the presentation, at about 6:30 p.m., residents will have an opportunity to speak one on one with staff from the ministry and to ask questions specific to their circumstance.”
Information Booklets, application forms, and a few library laptops will be available for West Carleton residents wishing to start or complete their applications. Two identical sessions are offered; Monday, July 22 and Thursday, July 25.
“There are many misconceptions about the program; this session is recommended for everyone who has sustained uninsured damages to their home/primary residence or business,” Russell said. “This session is delivered by personnel who administer the program – we are not planning a Q&A with the elected officials who dictate program limits, structure, or eligibility.”
