Tree Pose Yoga provides wellness kits for flood-fighting women

CONSTANCE BAY – A Constance Bay business used its network and expertise to raise $500 for flood relief in its own neighbourhood.

Tree Pose Yoga studio owner and doTERRA Canada wellness advocate Victoria Lefebre saw so many of her neighbours battling and suffering during extreme flooding this spring wanted to do what she could to help.

“Last week (first week of May) I reached out on my business page asking for help to collect products for women and families in need,” Lefebre said. “Their response was overwhelming, and we were able to raise $500.”

Being a Constance Bay business, it was important for Lefebre to use that money locally.

“I really wanted to make sure that the funds stayed within the community as much as possible, so I reached out to Tamara (Awada) at the Constance bay pharmacy for help,” Lefebre said. “Not only did she offer to help me order a large quantity of sample size products, she helped me stretch our funds by allowing me to purchase feminine products and family needs products at a discount. She has been a huge help in our community during these times of struggle.”

Lefebre continued to work.

“I knew there was more that I could do though, and I knew there would be a need for hygiene products and self-care products for quite some time to come,” she said. “Knowing this I reached out to the Helping Hands division of my health and wellness company doTERRA and asked how they could help. They sent me 100 personal wellness kits that I can distributed to those in need in our community. I am completely floored and so proud to be able to facilitate this giving back to our community.”
