Sweat with your pets this summer
WEST CARLETON – Sweat for Pets this summer with the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) by taking part in a new virtual fundraising campaign that inspires people of all ages to get active and have fun with weekly challenges, while raising funds in support of vulnerable animals.
Sweat for Pets is a summer-long campaign by the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society that is aimed at inspiring the public to stay active through simple, fun, at-home challenges involving their pets. Starting June 22, the Renfrew County Animal Centre will kick off 10 challenges over 10 weeks to raise funds to care for animals in need.
“Get ready to sweat for pets with a fun new challenge every week, while encouraging your family, friends and co-workers to pledge their support,” the Ontario SPCA released in a statement. “The challenges can be done with or without pets and are suitable for all ages and fitness levels. Modify the challenges to match your interests. Or, create your own unique challenge in support of animals in your community. You can also challenge other pet parents or fitness enthusiasts to step up.”
“Whether you have a pet or just love animals, it’s time to get active with the Ontario SPCA’s Sweat for Pets virtual fundraiser,” manager, Ontario SPCA Renfrew County Animal Centre Amanda Eckersley said. “This fundraiser is a way for us to come together, virtually, as a community to have fun, keep moving and give animals in need a second chance.”
