Suspected Nepean store knock-off artist arrested
NEPEAN — The Ottawa police have charged a man they believe is responsible for a series of convenience store robberies late last year following a traffic stop last night (Jan. 7).
“In December of last year, the Ottawa police Robbery Unit began investigating a series of commercial robberies were lottery tickets were stolen,” the Ottawa Police Service released in a statement today (Jan. 8). “On Jan. 7, frontline patrol officers intercepted a vehicle linked to these robberies at the intersection of Baseline Road and Clyde Ave.”
The driver was arrested for driving under suspension. A search incident to arrest revealed that the driver was in possession of a large quantity of lottery tickets.
The Ottawa police Robbery Unit charged Dominic Concordia, 37 of Ottawa with:
- Possess a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence x3
- Disguise with intent x3
- Robbery x3
- Possession of stolen property
He was scheduled to appear in court yesterday.
