Stittsville boy seriously injured in pedestrian crash
STITTSVILLE – A motor vehicle collided with a 10-year-old boy on a bike Saturday (July 18) sending the boy to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
According to Ottawa paramedics, the child suffered serious leg and abdominal injuries. Responders treated the boy at the scene and during transport to CHEO for further treatment.
Ottawa police responded to a serious collision at the intersection of Stittsville Main Street and Hobin Street shortly before 3:30 p.m. Detours were put into effect, with Stittsville Main Street closed between Carp Road and Hobin Street.
On Sunday, Ottawa Police tweeted the child was on a bicycle, and he had been hit by a driver in a pick-up truck. Police described the boy’s injuries as non-life threatening.
According to paramedics, no one else was injured in the collision.
