Spousal assault charge for 78-year-old in Lanark County OPP round-up

LANARK COUNTY – Domestic disputes come in all ages as the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 430 calls for service between Monday, Nov. 2, and Monday, Nov. 9.

The OPP responded to 49 motor vehicle collisions during the first week of November as well.

“On Nov. 3, 2020 Jeffrey Peters, 37 of Drummond-North Elmsley Township, was charged with one count of operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80 as the result of a traffic complaint,” OPP media relations officer Const. Joe Tereschuk released in a statement today. “The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Dec. 21.”

On Nov. 42020 Sarah-Jill Perez, 44 of McDonalds Corners, was charged with one count each of operation while impaired -alcohol or drugs and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80 as the result of a traffic stop. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Dec. 7.

Lanark County charged eight individuals on domestic charges and investigated 15 other domestic disputes during the week.

“On Nov. 4, a 78-year-old resident of Tay Valley Township was charged with two counts of spousal assault and one count of careless storage of a firearm as the result of a domestic investigation, Tereschuk said. “The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Dec. 7.”

On Nov. 3, a 32-year-old resident of the City of Ottawa was charged with one count of assault and two counts of mischief under $5,000 as the result of a historical domestic investigation. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Jan. 11. 

On Nov. 4, a 29-year-old resident of Carleton Place was charged with two counts of domestic assault and one count of mischief under $5,000 as the result of a domestic investigation. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Dec. 7.

On Nov. 4, a 56-year-old resident of Carleton Place was charged with domestic assault as the result of a domestic investigation. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Dec. 14.

On Nov. 5, a 34-year-old resident of Carleton Place was charged with two counts of domestic assault and one count of mischief under $5,000 as the result of a domestic investigation. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Dec. 14.

On Nov. 7, a 28-year-old resident of Lanark Highlands was charged with one count of assault with a weapon as the result of a domestic investigation. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Dec. 7.

On Nov. 8, a 22-year-old resident of Mississippi Mills was charged with one count of spousal assault as the result of a domestic investigation. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Nov. 30.

On Nov. 9, a 39-year-old resident of Carleton Place was charged with one count of criminal harassment as the result of a domestic investigation. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Dec. 14.

Officers of the Lanark County OPP investigated 10 theft complaints during the past week.

The Lanark County OPP investigated five other incidents of mischief and/or property damage and four reports of fraud during the past week.
