Soldier first to get COVID-19 vaccination in Upper Ottawa Valley
RENFREW COUNTY – The first individual to be vaccinated against COVID-19 in the Ottawa Valley is a member of the Canadian military.
Pte. Connor Doucette of 2 Field Ambulance stationed at Garrison Petawawa, received his inoculation this morning (Jan. 8).
Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members who are frontline healthcare providers working in high-risk clinical settings or who are at high risk themselves, will be the first to receive a vaccine from the Canadian Forces healthcare system the military released in a statement.
Vaccinations for 1,200 CAF members in this group make up the provinces first phase of three phased and are anticipated to get their shots between January and February.
