Significant rainfall in West Carleton starting Friday

WEST CARLETON – Environment Canada is calling for “significant rainfall” overnight Friday (April 26).

“Rain, heavy at times, will move into Eastern Ontario Friday morning and continue into Friday evening,” Environment Canada released in a statement today. “Total rainfall amounts of 20 to 35 millimetres are forecast by Saturday morning.”

With the Ottawa River expected to peak this weekend, Ottawa River homeowners have been working for weeks preparing their home for the high water, this is unwelcome news.

“This heavy rain is associated with a Texas low that will track across Southern Ontario on Friday,” Environment Canada said.
