Sens Rink of Dreams open for another season

OTTAWA – The outdoor skating season has official begun.

Skaters will be able to lace up for a scenic downtown skate at the Sens Rink of Dreams, which opened today at noon.

“Weather permitting, the Sens Rink of Dreams will be open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. until the end of the skating season, in March 2020,” city staff released in a statement today. “A heated skate-change hut is also available on site daily from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., plus a skate-sharpening service – open Fridays from 4 to 9 p.m., Saturdays from noon to 9 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 6 p.m.”

Throughout the season, a red flag adjacent to the rink and statuses on ottawa.ca will notify residents of any closures due to the weather – such as warm or rainy conditions. Residents can also download the free City of Ottawa App, available now through the Apple Store or on Google Play, to get notifications on their handheld devices.
