Rural growth planning info session Nov. 4 

OTTAWA – Beginning on Tuesday Nov. 3, residents can learn about the city’s new proposed approach to planning Ottawa’s future growth. 

“The city is hosting a series of public information sessions about one of the key cornerstones of the new Official Plan: the Transect approach,” city staff released in a statement today (Oct. 27). “Which means the city will plan by context, recognizing the specific needs of neighbourhoods in different parts of the city.”

The New Official Plan will help support our growth over the next 25 years.

“Using the Transect approach, this plan will be based on how we live, work and play in different parts of the city,” staff said. “We are proposing six different Transect areas across the city: downtown, inner urban, outer urban, suburban, greenbelt and rural.”
