Rotating school strike to hit Arnprior high school Wednesday

ARNPRIOR = The Renfrew County District School Board (RCDSB) is the next family of Ontario schools to feel the effect of job action this coming Wednesday (Jan. 8)/

After the holiday break, many local students can expect time off this coming Wednesday, as rotating strike action by members of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF/FEESO) resumes. The Wednesday action impacts members of the RDCDSB represented by the OSSTF and involves a one-day, full withdrawal of services.

This means Arnprior District High School will be closed to students this Wednesday as well as the other five secondary schools in the board.

Elementary and secondary students at L’Equinox in Pembroke will also be impacted by Wednesday’s Strike. Their school board is the Conseil scolaire des écoles publiques de l’Est de l’Ontario.

Elementary and secondary students at Jeanne Lajoie in Pembroke are also impacted by the one-day walkout. Their school board is the Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est.

The walkout by OSSTF members is scheduled for one-day only. All schools in West Carleton, which is part of the Ottawa district school board, will remain open.

The limited withdrawal of services, which began on Nov. 26, 2019 will continue across Ontario.
