Road rage leads to gun charges

OTTAWA – A Hunt Club road rage incident has led to gun charges for three young Ottawa residents.

“During the late afternoon of Oct. 14, frontline officers attended the area of Topley Crescent and Karsh Drive area in response to a road rage complaint,” the Ottawa Police Services (OPS) released in a statement today (Oct. 23). “Officers stopped a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle involved in the complaint. During the interaction between the officers and the driver and passengers, a gun was noticed inside the vehicle.”

Three men were arrested at the scene without any incident and the shotgun was found to be loaded.

Youssef Makieh, 19-years-old of Ottawa, Waleed Banjaki, 19-years-old of Ottawa,  and a 17-year-old young offender each face six charges related to the incident. All three appeared at show cause court last week.
