Rivermen home opener Oct. 11

KINBURN – Pre-season is over, the roster is set, and the West Carleton Rivermen kick off their inaugural home season Friday, Oct. 11.

The Rivermen are part of a brand-new four-team league known as the Eastern Ontario Senior A Hockey League (EOSHL) and is made of players with experience in Junior A, NCAA, semi-pro, AHL and other senior A leagues.

Galetta’s Adrian Moyes owns the West Carleton franchise and is also a player on the team. The EOSHL season kicks off Saturday, Sept. 28 as Cornwall faces Deseronto. The Rivermen’s first game of the season is Saturday, Oct. 5 against the Deseronto Bulldogs. It will be a home and away series as the Bulldogs will come to West Carleton on Oct. 11 for the Rivermen’s home opener in Kinburn at the Cavanaugh Sensplex at 8:30 p.m.

The home opener is billed as Minor Hockey Appreciation Night. Any minor hockey player wearing their jersey will be admitted free if accompanied by an adult.

Adult tickets are $10, kids five and up are $5 and anyone younger than that gets in for free.
