CARP – As work on a roundabout continues, the intersection at Huntmar Drive and Richardson Side Road will be closed this weekend.

While contractor AECON Construction has been able to accommodate traffic through the early part of the work, the City of Ottawa says this weekend’s closures “are required in order to facilitate the construction of the new roundabout. A weekend closure will minimize traffic impacts.”

The road closure will start at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 2, and re-open Monday, Oct. 5 at 6 a.m.

Huntmar Drive will be closed in both directions from Bradley Side Road to Richardson Side Road. Huntmar Drive northbound traffic will only be permitted to turn right on to Richardson Side Road eastbound.

Richardson Side Road will be closed to westbound traffic from Terry Fox Drive to Oak Creek Road. Richardson Side Road eastbound traffic will only be permitted to turn right on to Huntmar Drive southbound.

The roundabout is expected to be completed by the end of fall.
