Renfrew police search for man involved in attempted murder case

RENFREW – The manhunt is on for a man accused of attempted murder in a Sunday evening (June 17) assault.

Police from the Renfrew detachment of the OPP responded to a call for service at Argyle Street around 11 p.m. Sunday, where they located a victim with serious injuries.

The 37-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after the altercation in Renfrew. 

The victim was then airlifted to a hospital in Ottawa for treatment. 

On Tuesday, police arrested a 30-year-old man and charged him with a number of offences, including attempted murder, in relation to the incident. The OPP have not released the suspect’s name. He will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke, today (June 19).

Darren Pearce, 34, is also wanted by police in connection to the alleged assault. The OPP say he is considered dangerous and anyone who comes in contact with Pearce should not approach him but call 911 when safe to do so.
