Renfrew OPP enforce rules on roads, snow in weekly round-up

RENFREW COUNTY – Renfrew County Ontario Provincial Police found people mixing alcohol and driving on the roads and the snow within the county last wee.

“The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated 171 calls for service between Feb. 16 and Feb. 21,” OPP media relations officer Const. Amanda Carruthers released in a statement yesterday (Feb. 22).

Arnprior and Renfrew officers investigated 11 domestic disputes during the past week.

On Feb.  16, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Renfrew OPP was dispatched to a call for service at a residence in White Lake, McNab-Braeside Township. 

“As a result of the investigation, Ross Bahm, 50 of McNab-Braeside Township was charged with impaired driving and driving with blood alcohol concentration over 80,” Carruthers said. “He was also charged with two counts of driving while under suspension. The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on March 17.”

On Feb. 21, at approximately 9 p.m., Renfrew OPP received a call for a motor vehicle in the ditch on Highway 60 in Admaston-Bromley Township.

“The driver of the vehicle, Shawn Sandrelli, 38 from Pembroke, was charged with impaired driving and driving with blood alcohol concentration over 80,” Carruthers said. “He was also charged with an offence under the Tobacco Tax Act and one offence under the Highway Traffic Act.”

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on March 24.

On Feb. 18, , members of the OPP’s East Region Snowmobile, ATV and Vessel Enforcement (SAVE) Unit were conducting Motorized Snow Vehicle (MSV) patrols on Muskrat Lake in Whitewater Township. Officers issued two offences under the Liquor Licence Act and one under the Ontario Fishery Regulations.
