Renfrew County’s newest COVID-19 case an Arnprior resident, Ottawa numbers
ARNPRIOR – The Renfrew County and District Health Unit’s (RCDHU) most recent confirmed case of COVID-19 is an Arnprior resident.
The case was confirmed over last weekend raising the county’s total confirmed cases to 24. Yesterday (June 8) the RCDHU confirmed the case was found in the Arnprior area.
It is the eighth confirmed case of COVID-19 in Arnprior since the pandemic began in March.
The Renfrew area has 10 confirmed cases, there are three cases around Pembroke, one in Petawawa, one in Deep River and area and another in Barry’s Bay and area.
The RCDHU COVID-19 case summary also shows 13 health care workers testing positive for the coronavirus with 10 of them employed outside Renfrew County and District.
All five active cases in Renfrew County and District are listed in self isolation.
Ottawa Public Health (OPH) is reporting two more COVID-19-related deaths in the city along with just two new confirmed cases of the coronavirus in their June 8 numbers.
The agency says there have now been 2,006 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ottawa since the start of the pandemic, with 254 deaths.
The resolved rate is at 83 per cent and OPH says there are just 82 active cases of coronavirus in the city.
There are 31 patients in local hospitals with COVID-19, while 13 institutions continue to deal with outbreaks. Empress Kanata is the most recent home to be cleared of the virus.
