Rain, rain coming our way
WEST CARLETON – Environment Canada is advising residents to roll up their pants – there’s a lot of rain coming.
Environment Canada released a special weather statement today (Oct. 30) calling for potentially significant rainfall today through Friday afternoon.
“A low pressure system will approach Southern Ontario from the southwest,” Environment Canaa released in a statement this morning. “Rain is forecast to begin this afternoon and end by Friday afternoon. Rainfall amounts of 30 to 50 millimetres are possible, with the heaviest rain occurring Thursday evening. Strong northwesterly to westerly wind gusts of 70 km/h are possible Friday morning into Friday afternoon.”
If visibility is reduced during driving, turn on headlights and maintain a safe following distance. Remember pedestrians are more difficult to see when it is dark and raining.
