Premier WC art show a Thanksgiving treat
CARP – West Carleton’s premier art show is an opportunity to see some of West Carleton’s premier artists.
More than 30 artists from around the region will be presenting their work at the West Carleton Arts Society’s (WCAS) biggest event of the year – Expressions of Art. The event is a juried show and artwork on display has to earn its way in to the show.
The Vernissage debuts the weekend long show tonight (Oct. 11) starting at 7 p.m. It is a chance for the artists, their friends and the friends of the WCAS to meet each other and enjoy the art in the company of live music by Lanark County musician Kate Weekes and James Stephens. That gets started at 7 p.m. tonight.
The show runs all day Saturday (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and Sunday (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.).
“Come browse the fine artwork of more than 30 artists from around the region,” the WCAS released in a statement. “Talk to the artists, share some refreshments and participate in the viewer’s choice selection.”
Visitors to the event can play judge as well. The WCAS presents an award to the artist that is the Viewer’s Choice Award. Several artists have submitted work for this honour and those who come to the show judge and pick the winner.
Expressions of Art is held in the Carp Agricultural Hall at 3790 Carp Rd. For more information on the show, click here.
