Police identify Carp Road corridor break-in suspects

CARP – On Jan. 7 the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) released photos related to a commercial break-in in the Carp Road corridor on Cardevco Road. Today (Jan. 22) the OPS announced they have identified those in the photos.

“The Ottawa police Break and Enter unit would like to thank to public for their assistance in identifying the suspects in this break and enter,” the OPS released in a statement today (Jan. 22).

The break-in occurred Dec. 5, 2019 but photos were not released for a month after that.

“Releasing photos is one of the investigative tools available to the investigators and that’s where the investigation is at, at this point,” OPS’ media relations Const. Amy Gagnon told West Carleton Online Jan. 7.

At approximately 1 a.m., on Dec. 5, 2019, two suspects broke into a business and stole the cash box and all the money contained inside. Cardevco Road is connected to Richardson Side Road and Carp Road. The area is within the Carp Road Corridor Business Improvement Area and there are several businesses in the area including Voyago, Akman Construction, Torque Truck and Auto Repair, Virtucom Metals and Jestek Electric.

Const. Gagnon did not share the name of the business or the amount of money stolen referring to that information as “holdback information.”

While the police have identified those in the photo “the investigation remains ongoing,” and no arrests have been made yet.
