Pickleball in Carp

CARP – Pickleball is ready to go in Carp.

“We are pleased to advise that the lines are painted and we are ready to introduce Pickleball to Carp,” volunteer Sue Wynter released in a statement. “We would like to thank the city and our councillor, Eli El-Chantiry and the Huntley Community Association for making this happen. If you would like to learn how to play, please come and join Ken Perkins and myself for some instruction and fun.”

The pickleball court is at the outdoor hockey rink at the Carp Fairgrounds. Pickleball will be played every Friday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. starting today (May 31). Cancelled if raining.

There is no cost to participate. Running shoes and comfortable clothing is recommended.

“If you have pickleball racquets bring them, otherwise loaners are available,” Wynters said.

This is an introductory to Pickleball so all levels are welcome. Pickleball is a cross between tennis, ping pong and badminton and played on badminton sized court. For further information please call Ken Perkins 613-850-9952.
