Pedestrian struck by pick-up truck in Renfrew
RENFREW – A 78-year-old pedestrian is in critical condition after being hit by a truck in downtown Renfrew this afternoon.
“On July 3, at approximately 1:15 p.m. officers from the Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision on Raglan Street South, in the Town of Renfrew,” media relations officer Const. Tina Hunt released in a statement this afternoon (July 3). “The collision involved a pick-up truck and a pedestrian. The pedestrian, a 78-year-old was transported to hospital with life threatening injuries. The driver of the motor vehicle was not injured.”
Officers remain on scene and the investigation is continuing with the assistance of OPP Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) members and OPP Collision Reconstructionist members.
Raglan Street South remains closed between Renfrew Avenue West and Prince Avenue.
