Pearce in court today for attempted murder charge in Renfrew

PEMBROKE – Darren Pearce will be in court today (July 24) facing attempted murder charges for an incident in Renfrew June 19.

Pearce, 34, was arrested on June 19 following a stabbing in Renfrew that required the victim to be airlifted to an Ottawa hospital with serious injuries. Pearce is also facing charges of robbery with violence, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, aggravated assault, two counts of assault with a weapon and failure to comply with recognizance.

At the time of the incident, officers also took 30-year-old Terrance Goodwin of Mississippi Mills into custody. Goodwin is facing charges of attempted murder, robbery with violence, aggravated assault and two counts of failure to comply with a probation order.

This is the second time this year that Pearce has run afoul of the law. Back in March, Renfrew OPP arrested and charged Pearce of no fixed address, with three counts of trafficking a schedule one substance.
