Ottawa police recruiting youth to join advisory committee
OTTAWA — The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is launching its annual recruitment for its Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) and is now accepting applications.
Until Sept. 15, young people aged 13 to 24 can apply online at ottawapolice.ca/yac.
“The YAC brings a youth voice to policing and gives youth the opportunity to share ideas and work with police on initiatives and projects that matter to Ottawa youth,” the OPS released in a statement. “YAC members build relationships with police and other youth, gain skills and training, and are provided with food, bus tickets and other perks.”
