Ottawa patient did not contract coronavirus

OTTAWA – A sick Ottawa patient has been cleared and did not contract the deadly coronavirus.

Public Health Ontario Laboratory results for novel coronavirus in an Ottawa patient have come back negative.

Ottawa Public Health (OPH) was made aware of an Ottawa resident who was undergoing testing to rule out the virus on Tuesday, Jan. 28.

OPH then got a notification from the Public Health Ontario Lab about the test results, Thursday, saying the patient did not have novel coronavirus.

To protect the patient’s personal health information, OPH says it cannot disclose any additional details about the person.

The local health agency added, it is not aware of any confirmed or presumptive cases of novel coronavirus in Ottawa.
