Ottawa man charged in west end sex crimes

OTTAWA – Ottawa police have made an arrest in a Friday (Nov. 27) night incident involving several violent, sexual crimes.

“Today (Nov. 29), the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) Sexual Assault and Child Abuse (SACA) Unit charged a man with sex offences following an investigation,” the OPS released in a statement. “Yassin Farah, 37 of no fixed address, is charged with sexual assault on a child under 16 with a weapon, two counts of forcible confinement, robbery with a weapon, and three counts of uttering threats to cause death. These charges are related to incidents that took place in the early evening hours of Nov. 27, in the west end of Ottawa involving two teenage girls.”

SACA investigators are concerned there could be other victims and are asking anyone with information in relation to his whereabouts since Nov. 1 to contact police.
