Ottawa lawyer arrested in Vancouver on sex assault charges
VANCOUVER – Vancouver police arrested an Ottawa lawyer on outstanding sexual assault charges after he re-entered the country on the west coast Saturday, Aug. 3.
John David Coon, 55, was arrested and taken into custody shortly after getting off an international flight at the Vancouver airport.
“A man wanted by the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) in relation to a warrant for sexual assault charges was arrested Saturday, Aug. 3, following his entry into the country on an International flight landing in Vancouver, British Columbia,” the OPS released in a statement this morning (Aug. 7).
Coon practiced family law in Ottawa for several years.He will appear in court by video remand today. Investigators believe there may be other victims.
