OPP investigating ‘sudden death’ in Beckwith Township
BECKWITH TOWNSHIP – Lanark police are investigating the ‘sudden death’ of an individual in a Beckwith Township residence.
“The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), under direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, is investigating a sudden death in Beckwith Township near Carleton Place,” OPP media relations officer Bill Dickson released in a statement this evening (Sept. 24). “On Sept. 24, shortly before 10:30 a.m., the OPP responded to a 911 call from a residence in Scotch Corners. Officers located a deceased male at that location.”
The victim has been identified as Gregory Slewidge, age 39 of Beckwith Township.
“The investigation is in its early stages,” Dickson said. “A post-mortem examination is scheduled to be conducted on Sept. 25, in Ottawa.”
