OPL Universe kids’ education series ready to explore
OTTAWA –Educational series OPL Universe for children is coming to the library’s YouTube channel.
“This summer, the Ottawa Public Library (OPL) is offering much more than a Summer Reading Club,” library staff released in a statement today (Aug. 10). “Along with the launch of Summerland, the library has also initiated an entire educational program on YouTube, entitled OPL Universe, for children aged zero to 12.”
There, you will find videos on science, technology, crafts and active games for children.
“We know how important it is for you, parents, caregivers and guardians, to continually empower your children’s education and learning,” the library said. “You can subscribe to our YouTube channel today to take advantage of this enriching and educational online content for children. Here’s a glimpse of what you can expect:”
- EUREKA! Do your kids have a penchant for STEM? This series presents STEM experiments that you can do with your kids to help them discover the mysteries of science. New videos are added every week until the end of the summer.
- CRAFTERNOON: This series offers art fans all kinds of crafting projects to motivate our young creators to produce incredible works of art. They’ll learn expert methods using only everyday objects and recycled materials!
- READY? SET? MOVE! (Active games for kids): We all know how important it is to stay active, but it can be so hard to do that in the middle of a pandemic. Press play and follow along to the video to turn your home into the park or gym. Plenty of fun and surprises guaranteed.
