One charged, one still on the lam in Canada Day homicide
OTTAWA – Police have made one arrest but are still looking for one other suspect related to a Canada Day murder.
“(On July 19), Islam Rashed, 23-years-old of Ottawa has been arrested and charged by the Major Crime Unit with accessory after the fact to murder in relation to the homicide of Ryan Kabuya-Ntumba on July in the ByWard Market,” the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) released in a statement last Friday (July 19). “Moadd Maadani, 23-years-old of Ottawa is still wanted in relation this homicide. A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for his arrest.”
Maadani is considered armed and dangerous.
“If you see him, please immediately call 9-1-1,” the OPS said.
