Newly located Arnprior Fair set to go this weekend
ARNPRIOR – The Arnprior Fair debuts in its brand-new location and is bringing in some brand-new talent as it celebrates its 167th year kicking off this Friday (Aug. 9).
The weekend long fair is debuting at a new location at 74 Van Dusen Dr. near the Arnprior airport.
“It is with great excitement the board of directors of the Arnprior Agricultural Society has secured a property for this year’s fair,” President Brad Runtz released in a statement. “The Arnprior Agricultural Society is in a rebuild/rebrand mode. Since the early 1860s, the Arnprior Agricultural Society called 10 Galvin St. home. Given the circumstances that we faced in the last couple years, we regretfully had no other choice but to sell the property. It was not an easy decision to make. It has been a very stressful time for our board of directors.”
The fair is bringing in some musical heavy hitters to help celebrate the new location. Rainwater Whiskey plays Friday night as well as the River Town Saints. On Saturday, Gamut opens up for headliners Big Wreck.
The midway will be there and pay one price admission is back. Other fair features include the Ultimate Horse Show and Papanack Zoo and Farm Babies.
For the first time there will be on-site parking for space for about 200 cars. For more info on the Carp Fair, click here.
