Need something? A new Arnprior company will ‘go gedder’

ARNPRIOR – A new company out of Arnprior is promising those in West Carleton who need groceries, they’ll “go gedder.”

“Arnprior can now skip the grocery lines and stay healthy,” the Arnprior-based company released in a statement last week. “A team of go-gedders from Arnprior are helping put food on the table by delivering groceries to folks stuck at home.”

Customers simply place an order at gedder.ca and their groceries are delivered with a smile, right to the doorstep, contact free.

The gedder team, led by entrepreneur and economic developer Mandi Burton, is designed to address an immediate problem, while building a healthy local economy.

“Right now, critical work is being done by local organizations, volunteers, farmers and essential workers to ensure that our friends, family and neighbours have what they need,” she said. “We are excited to be part of this community effort and contribute to the health of the local economy.”

Gedder is currently delivering from local grocery stores, pharmacies, hardware stores and other local businesses, while lining up local farms to bring the freshest food to tables this growing season. Meanwhile, they are pitching in to support community organizations that are tackling challenges from different angles, including Seniors at Home and Teachers Against Poverty (TAP).

“We are so thankful for this local grocery delivery service for making a strong commitment to feeding little tummies and building up the community at the same time,” Arnprior teacher and poverty activist Dana Smith-Hisko said.”

The Gedder service is managed by Ghada Faour, a local service industry leader, who makes sure the process is simple and that customers get exactly what they want, when they want it.

“The process was so easy! I put my order in last night to have it delivered this morning at 11am

and it was here by 10:55 a.m. with a friendly face to greet me at my door,” a customer posted on a community Facebook page. “Highly recommend this service for people who are unable to get out to the grocery store themselves or simply don’t want to risk it during this difficult time.”
