Mount Pakenham shooting for Feb. 11 opening
PAKENHAM – The staff of Mount Pakenham have done all the work and are now just waiting for the go ahead to officially kick off the ski season.
“Although ski hills in Ontario are currently still mandated to be closed, Mount Pakenham is committed to reopening our lifts as soon as possible with all required safety restrictions and protocols in place,” the popular ski hill’s staff released in a statement yesterday (Jan. 25).
Snowmaking is complete and all runs are ready to open.
“As it currently stands, we are hopeful for re-opening by Feb. 11 once the stay-at-home order can be amended,” Mount Pakenham said. “We are eagerly awaiting the official green-light to commit to a re-opening date. In the meantime, we continue to passionately advocate the importance of offering exercise to our community through low-transmission activities such as skiing/boarding.
Mount Pakenham’s office is open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“We are currently addressing the cancellation of all lessons from Dec 26 to this current date,” Mount Pakenham said. “Thank you for your patience during this unexpected closure, our office team has been working hard on the administration and will answer all inquiries as quickly as possible. We will be sure to update you once we can offer online bookings again.”
