March not giving up without a fight

WEST CARLETON – One last special weather statement as March shows West Carleton who’s the weather boss.

“Freezing rain is expected Saturday,” Environment Canada released in a Special Weather Statement today (March 29). “Snow will develop early Saturday morning with a few centimetres of accumulation possible. Snow is expected to then mix with or change to freezing rain later Saturday morning. Freezing rain may continue through much of Saturday afternoon before changing to snow in the evening.”

Surfaces such as highways, roads and walkways may become icy and slippery as a result.

This precipitation is the result of a low pressure system that will track over Southern Ontario on Saturday.

“There remains considerable uncertainty in the exact track of this system and the associated precipitation,” Environment Canada said. “Freezing rain warnings may be required.”
