Marathon Village holding Hallowe’en parade

MARATHON VILLAGE – When you can’t go trick-or-treatin’ you might as well have a parade.

At least that’s the plan for Marathon Village this spooky Oct. 31.

“Hi neighbours,” organizers released in a statement yesterday (Oct. 19). “You are invited to participate in the Marathon Village, physically distance, trick of treating parade.”

The plan is to create a parade, but also have a route that has some treaters safely distributing treats.

If you wish to attend as a trick or treater, head out to the Linda Loop park around 5:50 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31,” organizers said. “The parade will start at 6 p.m. and will circle the Loop, turn on Snowbird and end at the corner of Snowbird and John Shaw. All ages are welcome.”

There are special instructions for those handing out treats.

“If you wish to give out treats, you may wish to consider putting them at the end of your driveway, or finding a way to distribute them safely,” organizers said. “If you live on neighbouring streets, feel free to set up/come cheer the paraders anywhere along the parade route. The more the merrier.”

Organizers state this event is weather permitting.
